Johnny Wise promoter of the Central Arkansas Motor Speedway has announced that on Saturday, October 31st that the Central Arkansas Motor Speedway will host the 1st Annual Leon Cloninger Memorial Races. The race is in honor of Late Model racer Leon Cloninger, who lost his life after suffering a heart attack during a race earlier in the 2020 racing season.
“I’m excited to get our racing program underway here at Central Arkansas Motor Speedway. And I can’t think of a better way than by dedicating a race in the honor of Leon Cloninger. He was a true racer, and just an overall great person,” Wise described.
Gates for the race will open at 4 P.M., with racing action starting at 7:30 P.M.
The race will highlight a Spec Late Model feature race that will pay $1,508.00 to win and $208.00 to start. I.M.C.A. styled Modifieds will also be in action as they will be racing for $1,504.00 to win and $124.00 to start. The racing lineup will also include a Factory Stock Race that will pay $1,004.00 to win and $104.00 to start.
“We are also excited that with the race being held on Halloween that the kids attending the races will be able to Trick or Treat with the drivers during intermission,” Wise said. “It will be a great addition to our show.”
